Do you know Soup Kitchens? It’s a place where hungry and homeless people can get food for free. I was interested in Soup Kitchens when I was a young boy. After I grew up, I used to give away clothes to people in my spare time. I found there were more and more homeless people in Camden Town. Then I started up a Soup Kitchen with my families and friends in Brixton.

We often play some soft music in the Soup Kitchen. We have lots of books, computers and a TV. People start coming in at about 11 a.m. We give them tea, croissants (羊角面包) and some other food. They like here because they can enjoy a meal comfortably.

The Soup Kitchen goes on well with the kindness of people’s hearts. The butchers (肉贩) in Brixton Market give us lower prices; Channel 4 helped us paint the place and finxed all the computers. You can see when people work from the heart and when people work for the money you get two different results. And we work from the heart. ( )66. Who does the Soup Kitchen serve? A. The rich.

In August of 2015 in Philadelphia, a service dog took quick actions and saved her owner’s life.

The dog named Yolanda, and her owner is Maria who became blind in 1992. The fire started inside Maria’s home on Thursday morning. She was sleeping at the time, but soon woke up when smelling the smoke (烟). She shouted the word “danger” to Yolanda. It was an order asking the dog to call 911 on a special phone. “I heard the phone — tke, tke, tke (拨电话的声音). Then I knew she called the police,” Maria told the reporter later. After that, Yolanda tried her best and pulled (拽) Maria out of the house. Firefighters arrived soon and put out the fire. Both Maria and Yolanda were OK.

In fact, it wasn’t the first time Yolanda saved her owner’s life. She also called 911 last year when her owner fell down inside her home.
