阅读课(全英)经典初中英语说课稿

Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen. I’m NO.12. Today it’s my great honor to stand here and I’m very pleased to have this opportunity to share my teaching ideas with all of you.

My topic today is unit12 Life is full of the unexpected, which is taken from PEP English, Grade 9. I will analyze this lesson from the following 5 parts: the analysis of teaching material, the analysis of students, teaching methods, teaching procedures, and blackboard design. Now, let’s go to

Part 1 The analysis of teaching material

I divide this part into 3 aspects. 1. Status and function

This lesson is a reading passage, which focused on the topic of April Fool’s Day. Such a topic is related to our daily life, so it is easy to arouse the Ss’ learning interests. As we all know, reading has a great effect on speaking and writing. Therefore this lesson is in the important position of the teaching material. 2. Teaching aims For knowledge aim,

Ss can learn the new words and new phrases such as announce, hoax, discovery, cancel, lady, officer and sell out by the end of this lesson. And understand the main idea of the article. For ability aim,

Ss will improve their reading skills: they will learn to skim for the main idea of the article and scan for the specific information. Also they will enlarge the relative knowledge about western festivals by reading more materials in library or from internet.

For emotional aim,

I aim to develop Ss’ spirit of cooperation through teamwork and group-discussion. And arouse Ss’ interest in English learning.

3. Teaching important points and difficult points.

The important points are to get an overall understanding of the whole text and develop Ss’ reading skills such as skimming, scanning, summarizing language points about…..…(具体课型用具体例子阐述). The difficult point is enabling the Ss to use the new words and phrases to retell the passage and to express their own ideas in daily life.

Part 2 The analysis of students

The Ss in Grade 9 have learned English for some years, so they have mastered enough knowledge both in vocabulary and reading skills, which will be helpful for them to understand the passage. They are curious, active, and enjoy learning through cooperation in a relaxing atmosphere.

Part 3 Teaching methods

In this lesson, my teaching methods include audio-visual teaching method and task-based teaching methods. Besides, a computer, a blackboard, and a projector are needed as the teaching aids. Part 4 Teaching procedures

There are five steps in my teaching procedures. But before teaching, I will divide the whole class into several groups to enable Ss to cooperate with each other efficiently and do discussion conveniently. Step 1 Warming-up and leading in (3mins) In order to activate the Ss to regard the topic of April Fool’s Day(主题) and create a relaxing atmosphere, I’ll play a video for the Ss. The video is about flying penguins which was made by BBC. T: “Let’s enjoy a video”.

T: What did you see in the video. Ss: The penguins can fly.

T: Do you believe it? Is it true? Ss may give different answers.

T: Well, it is not real. It’s not believable. The video was put on TV on April Fool’s Day by BBC. It was just a hoax on April Fool’s Day.” Then it goes on to Step 2 Pre-reading (10mins) In this step, the main purpose is to stimulate the students’ learning interest in the topic of April Fool’s Day.

T: April Fool’s Day is an interesting day. What do you know about this day? Yes, it’s on April 1st every year. Then it comes to Step 3 While- reading (15mins) This step includes fast reading, careful reading and intensive reading. Fast reading

In this part, I’ll let the students skim the passage to grasp the main idea of this passage by completing the following task.

Read the article quickly especially the first sentence in each paragraph. Then match each paragraph with the main idea.

Paragraph 1 One of the most famous tricks played

Paragraph 2 Examples of funny stories that happened on April Fool’s Day

Paragraph 3 An introduction to April Fool’s Day

Paragraph 4 A sad story that happened on April Fool’s Day After this task it comes to Careful reading
