一、不定冠词a，an的基本用法
1. 用于可数名词的单数形式前，表示“一”。如;
There is a tiger in the zoo. 动物园里有一只老虎。 2. 表示一类人或事物。如;
A tiger can be dangerous. 老虎可能有危险性。 3. 表示“某一个”。如;
A gentleman wants to see you. 有一位先生要见你。 4. 表示“每一”。如;
We go swimming three times a week. 我们每周去游泳三次。 5. 用在作表语的单数可数名词前，表示身份、职业。如; My mother is a teacher. 我妈妈是一名教师。 6. 含不定冠词的固定搭配; as a result结果 a great number of许多，大量 have a cold感冒 pay a visit to sp .参观某地 不定冠词a和an的区别
判断在一个单词前用a还是用an，是根据其读音，而不是根据其首字母来判断的。以元音音素开头的词前用an，以辅音音素开头的词前用a。如; an hour,an honest boy, a useful book, a university student。
注意; ①在26个字母中，前面用an的字母有12个; （前四个元音字母）a，e，i. o; （以音素/e/开头的字母）f，l，m，n，S，x; h，r。 例题1

1. 谈话双方都知道的人或物。如;

The earth goes around the sun. 地球绕着太阳转。

6. 用在姓氏的复数前，表示“一家人或夫妇二人”。如; The Greens are watching TV now. 格林一家正在看电视。 7. 用在上文已提到的人或物前。如;

8. 用在表示海洋、江河、山脉、群岛、国家和党派等名词前，或由普通名词构成的专有名词前。如;

10.用于“the+比较级，the+比较级”及“the+比较级+of+两者”的句型中。如;
