Recently I have read an essay called lions and Tigers and Bears, which is wrote by Bill Buford who worked as an editor for The New Yorker from 1994 to 2001 and was generally considered one of the best fiction editors the magazine had ever known.

The author talked about his experience he wandered and camped alone in the central park at night, which seems like a worry decision because it is full of the incredible dangerous at night in the central park, such as the bully, garrotter, highway robber besides a purse snatcher, loon, prostitute, drug dealer, murderer, even if it is safe during the day. But the thing you don’t do will appeal to the one who is interested in adventure, just like the author.

Firstly, he arrived in the park at nine -fifteen and made for the nocturnal spot he knew: the Delacorte Theatre in which was showing the production of Shakespeare,The Taming of the Shrew. At that moment,he was involving himself in a happy atmosphere without any dangerous or terror besides the police were there to reassure the audience that it was being protected. So he wandered around it with a sense of exhilaration.

The relaxed mood, however, was soon replaced by a sense of fear when he found himself lost in the dense woods and followed by a threateningly louder. And he bolted, not running, not looking back and turned left and turned right when finally he realized he was in the Ramble. He breathed so that he could calm down and finally got his bearings that he was on the West Side, around Seventy-seventh, where Michael McMorrow was murdered mercilessly two years ago.

But fear was not the only thing that the author felt in the park. He recalled by a band concert, held on a Saturday to avoid the rougher and the visitors enjoyed at that night. The park has two different styles. One was the Romantic park. The other, the southern end of the park was more French. As he enjoyed the beauty, he encountered a couple and they were panicking from a hundred feet. The man protected the woman an reached out and grabbed her arm when they were witnin a few feet of me and the author addressed them, making the woman started shrieking uncontrolled, which gave him a confidence because one of the most frightening things in the park at night was a man on his own.

Then the author made a description of the past of the Park.Moses was responsible foe the third design element in the Park was, purposeful, unapologetically American.

Next he set out for the northern end of the park, where he came across a gang of kids on bicycles zooming and hooting, which reminds him of the criminal case there in 1989.

He walked alongside the Park’s West Drive and the more northern apartments of Central Park West were in view. And the Park was framed by the city -contrived, man-made, glaringly obtrusive, consuming wasteful and it is strange to say the beautify of the city and I boldly guessed the author may not loved the scene of the city from the bottom of his heart because of its over shinning.

Finally, he walked on and on and found a place to sleep in the woods. His sleep was interrupted by three small raccoons that bring him an interesting experience. At last, the author fell asleep and woke up the next morning in the singing of birds.
