一、知识精讲
一般过去时态有两种谓语动词，即：系动词 be 和实义动词。 (一) be 动词的一般过去时句型 1.肯定句：主语+was/ were+其他. 【例句】
He was in Shanghai last year.去年他在上海。 例子：
The children in the gym.They had a good time.
A. was B.are C.were D. be 答案：C
思路分析：根据题干中的 had 可知时态用一般过去时；主语 the children 是复数，故谓语动词用 were。句意为“孩子们在体育馆。他们玩得很开心”。
2.否定句：主语+was/were+not+其他
