General Information of the British Museum
Opening hours Monday to Saturday 10:00am-5:00pm, Sunday 2:30pm-6:00pm. Closed during the Christmas period, New Year’s Day, Good Friday and the first Monday in May. Essential work may necessitate closing areas without notice. Clearance of galleries begins ten minutes before closing time. Smoking, eating and drinking are not allowed in the Museum. Museum shops Books, postcards, posters, replicas(艺术复制品) and other items are available from the shops at the main entrance and other sales points. These close 15 minutes before the galleries.
