Last Saturday afternoon, my wife went to the supermarket to do some shopping with our five-year-old daughter. I as well as our four-year-old pet dog Chico was in the study upstairs.
I turned on my computer and listened to quiet music. It made me relaxed. Suddenly, Chico ran out of the study and barked very loudly. I thought that someone had broken into our house, so I took a baseball bat, walked quietly out of my study and looked down to the stairs. To my surprise, there wasn’t anybody. Instead, there was a big black snake making its way up the stairs. It was almost eight feet long. I was so scared. At first, I wanted to shout for help. However, I realized that it was not a good idea. There was nobody else in the house. I wanted to call the police, but I gave up in the end. Finally, I used the baseball bat to scare the snake away. When it moved out of the house, I felt so relaxed.
If Chico hadn’t warned me of it, I might have died. To thank him, I bought him a big bag of dog food.
