听力原文: (Text 1)

W: Why weren’t you at basketball practice yesterday? You didn’t tell the coach where you were and we were worried about you.

M: I had a doctor’s appointment after school. My mom told the office, but I guess they didn’t tell our coach.

(Text 2)

W: Welcome to Chase Bank. How may I help you today?

M: I’d like to open a savings account, please. I already have a checking account and a credit card here. W: Wonderful! If you can just show me your ID and your bank card, we’ll get started right away.

(Text 3)

W: Hi. Steve. Did you check the weather for this week?

M: Hi, Laura. Yes, I did. Everything will be fine tomorrow. But it looks like it will rain this weekend. At least it’s not going to snow for another month.

(Text 4)

W: Excuse me, sir. I have a job interview at the GW Corporation in half an hour. Should I take a taxi?

M: It’s only a five-minute walk. Go along this street and turn right. You’ll get right to the building in no time. W: Thank you very much.

(Text 5)

W: Well. Alexander. I’d like to have another cup of tea with you, but you know, my phone has been ringing constantly. M: Oh, thank you for your time. It’s been nice talking with you.

(Text 6)

M: How long have you been in Spain?

W: I’m here studying abroad for the semester. I’m from New Hampshire, but I went to college in Washington. Have you ever been to the U.S.?

M: I went to New York once. How do you like Spain?

W: I love it! It’s quite different, though. Here in Spain, people take time off in the middle of the day. It’s so nice. I wish more Americans would take time for a nap after lunch. Personal space is also very different. People here sit so close to me when we’re having a conversation!

M: Well. I’ve never noticed that.

(Text 7)

W: Do you want to see a movie with me this weekend, Lawrence?

M: I haven’t been to the movies for ages! Let’s do it! What do you want to see? W: I’ve been super stressed at school lately. I could really use a good laugh.

M: Well, as long as we don’t see one of those romantic comedies or action movies. W: No! I’m much more interested in dark comedies. M: What’s a dark comedy?

W: It’s a type of movie that’s supposed to be funny but not in a normal way. It’s kind of hard to explain.

M: Um. Let’s just see a regular comedy, something light. Let’s go to that theater near the lake. We can walk around outside and grab something to eat before the show. W: Good idea! I’ll just get my car keys.

(Text 8)

W: Hello, Robert. This is Carol. M: Hello, Carol. What’s the matter?

W: I’ve run into a problem with the schedule of the 9 o’clock meeting tomorrow. I don’t know how to deal with it. M: Don’t worry. Tell me about it.

W: Our 10 o’clock presenter Dr. Jensen is stuck at the St. Louis airport. The soonest flight he can catch won’t get him here until 10: 30. His topic is on how to do business with foreign companies.

M: All right. He’ll need to rest and eat. Why don’t we change the time of his presentation. What about 2 o’clock in the afternoon? W: That’s a good idea. I’ll check with our 2 o’clock presenters and see if one of them will change. M: Let me know as soon as you’ve arranged it. I’ll get a sign posted at the registration table.

(Text 9)

M: I’ve been having a lot of problems with my stomach lately, so I went to the doctor yesterday and found out that I’m allergic to food with milk. I had no idea it had anything to do with my diet.

W: Wow, that’s going to be really hard. Milk is in almost everything! I drink milk every day because I know it’s good for my skin. M: I know. I can’t eat cheese or cake anymore. Most baked goods have milk. I can’t have chocolate or ice cream, either!

W: Well. I know there are some other products you can use instead of milk, like soymilk. Also, I think you can make milk out of nuts, too.

M: Nut milk? I guess I’ll just have to shop at the health food store from now on. W: Can you still eat eggs?

M: Yes. those don’t have milk in them.

W: Oh, yeah. Well, maybe your new diet will be exciting: you’ll get to try a lot of foods that you otherwise wouldn’t get to try. M: I guess. But I mostly just think it will be kind of frustrating. It will be hard to eat at friends’ houses and restaurants. My brother can’t eat bread and everyone always makes fun of him when we go out.

W: I’m sure everyone will be very understanding. My sister-in-law can’t have sugar. More people have this problem than you think.

(Text 10)

M: Hello, boys and girls. Are you like most young people? Do you spend most of your free time on music or sport? Well. why not try something different? How about something that will not only keep you fit but will also do something to help make the environment a better place? Help the Environment is an organization that encourages people to do tasks like clearing paths, planting trees and building fences. In other words, they do all sorts of jobs that help the countryside to be a pleasant place for people to relax in. I’ve been a volunteer for Help the environment for a couple of years now. Of course, what I enjoy most is that I’m helping to improve the environment of the countryside but I also love the social aspect of the activity. I’ve made a lot of new friends of my own age. We spend the whole weekend in the open air. Last weekend, for example, we camped in the grounds of an old castle where we were helping to build a children’s play area. It was magical. So, why not give it a try too? I’m sure you won’t regret it. The physical activity provides exercise. You’ll enjoy yourself and you’ll get to know lots of interesting new people. So don’t hesitate. Just come to Help the Environment. We welcome all of you.
